Eleanor is a graphic designer with a love for beautiful content that communicates effectively. She’s finicky about getting things right, likes working on things that make the world better, and thinks websites should always be easy to navigate. Her background in fine arts and educational publishing help her make things look they way they are supposed to – always clear, easy to follow, and harmonious. Eleanor has a Bachelor of Visual Arts with a photography major, and a post-graduate Diploma in Graphic Design. Her core values include: accessibility, equality, and just generally not being a jerk.

Ed’s the guy that will turn your great ideas into living, breathing websites (living and breathing not guaranteed). He’s also the guy who will explain technical things to you without being patronising, to help you to get the most out of your site. He likes code that works, and websites you can actually use without some sort of advanced degree in website management. He has a wide range of experience in both government and non-profit work. When he’s not at the computer he is doing karate, playing the clarinet, or making film and theatre.

our work

E tū

E tū had a site that was built on a custom CMS that was hard to edit, and gave them very little control over how their content was organized and displayed. We created a WordPress site for them with a fresh design that better reflected their brand and their content. The site includes separate areas for news items, resources, and events, as well as an online version of their magazine.

Exhibitions Gallery of Fine Art

Exhibitions Gallery wanted a site that felt very clean and easy to look at - a site that showcased the art, like a gallery space. We made the design monochromatic, subtle, and harmonious. Their old site was insecure and hard for them to maintain, and didn't work well on smaller screens. We migrated them to WordPress, and set up better systems for showcasing their current and upcoming exhibitions, as well as their best-selling artists and works.

NZ Council of Trade Unions

The NZCTU's old site was built on Drupal 6, which was reaching the end of its supported lifespan. They wanted a modern and user-friendly update of the design of their site, that still retained their brand. We simplified the site, and designed it to make it extremely easy to use. We migrated them from Drupal to WordPress, and completely redesigned and rebuilt their Find Your Union tool so that it returned more useful results. "It was extremely easy to develop a working relationship with Eleanor and Ed, they gave extremely constructive advice, worked through all our questions and delivered a high quality result on time and in budget.”  - Sam Huggard, NZCTU Secretary.

We migrated PHANZA's old Drupal 6 site to a new responsive WordPress site, and completely rebuilt their member directory to be easier for members to update and visitors to navigate. PHANZA’s objective was to project an image of their work as contemporary and modern. So the design of the site references historical study, but steers away from serif type and dusty sepia tones. "We’ve had great feedback from our members about our new website’s functionality and features.” - Karen Astwood, PHANZA Secretary.
